"Doh!" Indeed!:(

I've noticed some strange things happening of late, I'm not sure if the problem lies with AVG (I suspect so), Firefox, or Windoze. I log off, then log in again, and suddenly my home page in Firefox has changed to AVG Safe Search. It's only happened about three times in the last few days, but, not only on one machine. I've ended up doing some jigger pokery with Firefox cfg to ensure my home page remains as my speed dial. So far, so good.

Perhaps this may help

They've lost the plot...

Problem is, when do I burn a "final build" of Windoze 10???? You'd have thought that, by now, they'd know how to build a (relatively) bug free system.

I've opted NOT to go the Win 10 route, but I've been following up on it. The HUGE size of the update can, IMO, only lead to one conclusion, and that is MS was in one hell of a hurry to get it out the door. "Code Bloat"--MS doesn't know the meaning of the word.

In a related matter, there was a lengthy online news article earlier this week re MS at Redmond reorganizing its various security responsibilities personnel into ONE umbrella type department (at least in terms of its organizational chart). I would venture the opinion that those personnel at MS who are assigned its code security work is a punishment assignment, i. e., it's not what people who get a degree in computer science want to work on.

Apparently the Win10 updates are putting some users over their data allowance. For goodness sake. What kind of OS is this?

I just replied to Katzy on another thread about this but it is relevant here, too. To disable automatic updates the howtogeek has a pretty easy to understand guide of the whys and wherefores.
