If you sign up for a health insurance plan, and then wish to replace it with a plan that works better for you, you can't do it. According to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, this is an intentional feature of Obamacare. She says you can't allow people to cancel health insurance plans, willy-nilly--the government has to decide for people whether a different health insurance plan should be allowed.
Andrew Robertson originally signed up for health insurance coverage that cost $300 per month, but found a plan with similar coverage for only $116 per month. He bought the less expensive plan, but the administration of Obamacare won't let him cancel the first plan. Instead, it is continuing to deduct the $300 from his bank account every month, even though he is paying the $116 per month for the coverage he prefers.
I think Sebelius is stupid, foolish, incompetent, and wrong. No, the government should not have the authority to prevent people from changing their health insurance.
Don't worry Scholar, Obama keeps suspending parts of the plan. Soon there won't be any plan.
Delanti is perhaps referring to the fact that, without legal authorization, Obama has extended the time that health insurance companies will be
allowed to offer coverage that does not comply with Obamacare standards. Such policies were scheduled to become illegal after the 2014 elections (not
before, because the millions of people who'd be angered at losing their health insurance because of Obamacare might vote out the Democrats).
However, the insurance companies would start mailing out cancellation notices ahead of time, before the insurance was actually dropped, which would
influence the vote against the Democrats. So, Obama decided to postpone this particular harm from Obamacare until it wouldn't hurt his cronies.
If Obamacare insurance is better than the former system, why would people prefer their old insurance? Simple: Obamacare has made economical, no-frills insurance illegal. That means single Christians who abstain from sex must pay for abortion coverage and birth-control medication coverage. Women in their 50s and 60s must pay insurance premiums that cover the cost of child birth.
It is madness!!!
