New computer and it is possessed
ohboy - 20-1-2008 at 03:28

Please look at my hjk and tell me what is wrong. I run vista and all of a sudden my clock time changed, and everything wants to update all of a sudden. When I try to download anything it always pops up three or four times to download and install..My last item I downloaded was for my tungsten e2 vista.
Thanks in advance

Just a thought...

I wonder if your CMOS battery's gone flat...?

ohboy - 20-1-2008 at 20:19

CMOS battery. How do I check it to find out if it is good. it is strange to see one item pop up three times when trying to install something. Clock is even stranger
Thanks for your help

It's in a recess on your motherboard. Silver thing, about an inch in diameter.

They only cost a coupla quid, so it might just be worth your while trying it.

I'm not in a position to say that that's definitely what it is that's wrong, of course. But, it's sure got to be worth a try, innit?
