He was the fulfillment of all the Law and the Prophets--not a revolutionary break from them.

The words on the poster are poorly chosen. He told ONE MAN to sell what he had and give to the poor, because He saw in that man's heart that his attachment to his possessions proved that his claim to having completely kept the Law was false--possessions ruled his life more than the true God. Taken out of context, one might wrongly conclude that Jesus wants everyone to sell their possessions for the sake of the poor.

And, the instructions to give to Caesar what is Caesar's, elsewhere, do not say "give BACK to Caesar"--as if the things we have are from the government, to be returned to the government.

We didn't just need an example--we don't live up to the good examples we already have.

We didn't just need a teacher--we already fail to do things we know we ought to do, and we do things we know we should not do.

We needed help beyond anything we could do for ourselves. We needed a Savior.

"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10)

That is what Good Friday is about--Jesus paid the price owed for our sin, taking the punishment on Himself, so His sacrifice could restore us to God.
