Is every country on the "happy in" list a country of Christian heritage? I'm not certain about Australia, but I believe all the others are.

I don't see any on the list which are Hindu, Confucian, Daoist, Buddhist, or atheistic Communist in heritage (I'm not thinking Germany is really Communist in heritage, in spite of the time East Germany spent under Communist domination.)

Is this not covered by the phrase " ... every country that is not muslim." ?

John_Little - 11-12-2013 at 10:15

I think I must have missed something here.

If you really look at the history of Christianity, didn't it do pretty much the same thing?

And often at sword/gun point?

I think it may well be a mistake to list a number of countries of Christian heritage, in which Muslims are happy, and then generalize it to "every country that is not Muslim." I am guessing that Muslims are less happy under Communist anti-religious persecution, for example. And, isn't there some real antipathy between some Muslims and some Hindus in India?

The same thing as being a suicidal terrorist? (That is the first line of the OP article.)

No.

Redwolf5150 - 12-12-2013 at 00:34

Everything else, though?

You know, go to new countries.

Establish the dominate religion, even when your numbers are a minority, pushing your religious beliefs into the laws of said countries and forcing those with different beliefs to convert or suffer.

Redwolf5150 - 12-12-2013 at 03:46

Didn't Christian white men bomb the BLACK 16th Street Church in Birmingham, Alabama back in the civil rights struggle?

Oh, you FORGOT about that?

I'm sure I could dredge up other examples.

marymary100 - 12-12-2013 at 07:06

You don't have to look very far to find bad people doing bad things under the guise of religion. Really it's all about power and control and who you want to hand these important things over to.

LSemmens - 12-12-2013 at 11:14

Many things are done "in the name of God" that, poor God, has no part in. Muslims certainly aren't original in their "convert or die" crusades but, I would have hoped that we (humanity) had grown beyond that by now.

Byzantium: A Tale of Three Cities episode 2
Watched this tonight very informative on who fought who through the centuries in the name and control of religion.
Certainly in my case an eye opener.

LSemmens - 14-12-2013 at 00:02

Must look that up Victor, looks inneresting.

Australia has a "Christian Heritage" as you put it, insofar as anywhere has that's not actually Palestine :)

marymary100 - 14-12-2013 at 12:49

I'm not sure that the Aborigines would concur. ;)

Well yes they would, because my point was that only Palestine has an original "Christian Heritage"....so to speak.

LSemmens - 15-12-2013 at 11:07

Australia, as it stands, was founded upon Christian principals and has largely adhered to those.
