My former wife's grandparents died within three days of each other. The husband died first, then the wife just died of a broken heart.

They had been married over 50 years, too.

I cared for an elderly husband and wife who died within a day of each other.

Their deaths, so close, were very hard on their offspring, who went from two parents to none in one day.

My grandparents died within 10 days of one another. She saw him buried then died of a massive heart attack. She'd been his carer for a while, as is so often the way.
