i've just installed wamp server, its got mysql, php and apache server combined in one install. on the phpadmin page it says enter a admin password but the problem is i can't see a way to set up a password, which is also required by dreamweaver. i've tryed editing the config file but then i cannot get back into phpadmin because it gives an error,
i know that you guys can help...
thanks (what is this mouse doing?)
Apart from the uninstall / reinstall route you could try:
mysqladmin -u root password NEWPASSWORD
from a CMD prompt. You may need to navigate to the relevant directory that stores mysqladmin (typically wampfolder/mysql/bin) and NEWPASSWORD is just place holding text for whatever you want your new password to be.
Alternatively look for a file called CONFIG.PHP - there may be other words between the config and php parts. Open that file up in wordpad or other fav text editor. The password is stored in there as plain text.
