Problem with e-mail after java update installed
scholar - 19-10-2014 at 09:38

My XP computer got a window that a newer version of java was available from Oracle, so I made the necessary clicks to install it.

That day, when I tried to use the address book in my Juno e-mail window in the FireFox browser, the address book came up as if there were no listings in it, three times when I tried it.

I tried it again just now, and it listed e-mail names and addresses, but it does not put them into the e-mail.

These things used to give say javascript as they worked, with the previous version of java, so I have figured it is the new version that is the problem. What can I do?

Java and Javascript are entirely different things, Scholar.

Is NoScript installed on Firefox? Maybe that needs reconfiguring.

It's a VERY good security add-on. Even you'd know, if you had it, I'd suspect. ;)

It can take some getting used to, though.
