A Japanese company is offering its employees a monthly "pet allowance" to help with the upkeep of their cats and dogs.

Kyoritsu Seiyaku is offering its pet-owning employees about $9 (4.70) per month, and hopes the system will spread to other Japanese firms.

Kyoritsu Seiyaku makes animal medicine so I assume owning pets is part of their jobkewl_glasses
I wonder if they give pet insurance as well?

I would imagine they offer a discount for employees.
But so often the high fees at a vets are the consultation fees.

E,G Candy's normal fee at the moment is 57 a visit. 54 of that being the consult and 3 for tablets><

It's the vet bills that would put me off having a pet again.

It's not that bad really Mary, when you consider my dogs are 12 years old and up to now cost me nothing in fees.
I expected the problems when they got older.
