Paris flood

John_Little - 27-1-2018 at 12:26

Has it happened? They were talking about it on the radio this morning but although the river was high, it hadn't overflowed. They have had the most rain in January for a considerable number of years. Its obviously Trump's fault for pulling out of the Paris agreement.

As of 09:00 (08:00 GMT) on Saturday, the river level had reached 5.7m above normal. While forecasters believe it will continue to rise, peaking on Sunday night or Monday, it is not expected to reach the 2016 high of 6.1m, AFP news agency reports.

I think they said it had flooded outside Paris but so far the City had got away with it.

The rats are coming out and about because their usual stomping grounds are flooded and the basements of buildings like the Louvre are shut off. It's the fact those measurements are in metres that makes it astounding.

Maybe Parisians need to issue their statue with a snorkel and mask.
