I lost my BBC morning radio!

I usually listen to BBC news radio on the drive to my job. This would be between 4 and 5 a.m. Chicago time, which I think is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. GMT. I felt closer to my KF friends, thinking, "Some of them may be hearing the very same broadcast." I heard a world-news summary on the half-hour, and news articles in between.

This morning, it was replaced by classical music. I had been getting it on a public radio channel, broadcast from a local university. It looks like they changed their programming schedule.

Do you ever listen to the Today Programme?

With digital radio the world is your oyster. I listen to this on my commute.

I don't think I have. The "public radio" stations subscribe to various programs for which they pay, almost all of them American. The BBC news show between 4 and 5 a.m. is exceptional in this regard.

My BBC news is back/

I'm guessing there was a transmission problem, and the music was an emergency substitution (rather than leave "dead air").
