I usually listen to BBC news radio on the drive to my job. This would be between 4 and 5 a.m. Chicago time, which I think is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. GMT.
I felt closer to my KF friends, thinking, "Some of them may be hearing the very same broadcast." I heard a world-news summary on the half-hour, and
news articles in between.
This morning, it was replaced by classical music. I had been getting it on a public radio channel, broadcast from a local university. It looks like they changed their programming schedule.
Do you ever listen to the Today Programme?
With digital radio the world is your oyster. I listen to this on my commute.

I'm guessing there was a transmission problem, and the music was an emergency substitution (rather than leave "dead air").
