I always go to the back door for a smoke ... so that's both exercise and fresh air. :)

the bear - 22-7-2012 at 13:59

No fags for me, never had one. :)

Regards the Bear

LSemmens - 22-7-2012 at 14:26

If you smoke around here, I'll assume you are on fire and take appropriate action. :D

marymary100 - 22-7-2012 at 15:19

I despise smoking with a passion.

You sound like my daughter. :D

If you'd seen someone you loved die of smoke induced oral cancer you might feel the same.

I do feel the same. I'm an addict.

marymary100 - 22-7-2012 at 21:35

Do you despise smoking when the cigarette is in your hand then?

LSemmens - 23-7-2012 at 01:29

Sadly. Mary, many addicts do, but, such is their addiction, can do little about it. As I have grown older, I have become more tolerant of such addictions. Population Control and all that....:) I even tolerate the fact that one of my children smoke, he knows I don't like it, but he is considerate enough to smoke outside, even at his own home.

marymary100 - 23-7-2012 at 08:01

I'm glad we brought in the no smoking in indoor public places law here. I was at a Mardi Gras like event on Saturday and it was the first time in ages that I'd seen bunches of smokers congregating with their drinks in hand. They were outside and even in the open air the smell was overwhelming.

Nimuae - 23-7-2012 at 09:23

I know what you mean, MM, my cousin and his girlfriend are both chain smokers. No matter how carefully they clean up, their house still smells like a well used ash tray ! Whenever I visit them I make sure that I wear clothing that can be dumped into the washing machine as soon as I come home. No-one is allowed to smoke in my house at all.

delanti - 23-7-2012 at 15:23

I quit January 19, 1985. Other people smoking do not bother me but there is no smoking in my house either. I never realized how bad I stunk until after I quit. I don't know however if I could have just quit cold turkey without a good reason like having the crap scared out of me.waveysmiley

Yes indeed, and if you walk to the shop to purchase a packet of fags, that's another form of healthy exercise, thus conclusively proving that smoking is good for you.

Not only that, if you can get hold of some duty free, you also save money. smokin:

LSemmens - 24-7-2012 at 01:07

Even healthier, you could walk down to the shop to purchase these fags, problem is the PC brigade has managed to get them banned!

giron - 24-7-2012 at 07:50

There are other places you can pick up fags, or so I've been told.

For instance, a party at Michael Barrymore's house springs to mind, allegedly.

I know I'm disappointing my daughter & my husband. They worry about me. I know the only way I will give up permanently
is to wean myself off them. Currently I'm down to 5 a day, so hopefully it won't take me too long.

Lol .... I roll my own now, so that's also extra exercise. :D

giron - 24-7-2012 at 22:17

I've smoked Old Holborn roll ups for over 40 years and they've hardly done me any harm.

Yes but the tobacco tar puts a coating on your lungs, thus preventing the penetration of nasty germs, it's a bit like creosoting a garden fence. teacher_mode
