Trinity
giron - 5-7-2012 at 20:07

There appears to be only three of us here at the moment, but there could be others that are utilising the cloak of invisibility, then again perhaps there isn't.

giron - 5-7-2012 at 20:36

It looks like I was right about the cloak of invisibility, but now it seems Matilda has got fed up and gone down the pub.

Nimuae - 5-7-2012 at 20:48

Let's go join her - the first round is on me !

giron - 5-7-2012 at 20:49

Nim's here, we are three again, or is it four ?

Yes, I know what you're thinking, I'm only posting this rubbish in order to boost my post count and you're quite correct, but it's nothing to be ashamed about.

.... Or is it ?

marymary100 - 5-7-2012 at 21:06

I was watching a really depressing programme on TV about ending up in a care home. Giron does the GPO have a care home for former tea drinkers pretending to work?

giron - 5-7-2012 at 21:24

I was watching that and it was rather depressing, as far as I know the GPO doesn't have any care homes, so I'm up the creek without a paddle when I go doolally.

If anyone says I'm already doolally I'll report them to the janitor ! waggyfinger

Redwolf5150 - 5-7-2012 at 21:38

Sorry, KF was lost among about 15 windows of quotes on assorted subjects for images I'm working on.

:)

giron - 5-7-2012 at 21:42

You haven't missed anything, so there's no harm done.

In any case, Nim and Matilda seem to have gone back down the pub.

LSemmens - 7-7-2012 at 07:11

I've wasted a day and a bit trying to learn all the idiosyncrasies of my Billion modem/router because something keeps screwing with my settings. So, yes, I'll have a scotch, and a double, straight up!

giron - 8-7-2012 at 12:01

Sometime there are three, but they're not the Trinity, which explains the depleted daily post count. teacher_mode

LSemmens - 8-7-2012 at 14:22

Speaking of Trinity, here's a useless fact that most of us had probably forgotten. The test site for the A-Bomb before they tested it on Japan was called Trinity. Something I learned from watching Billy Connoly.

giron - 17-7-2012 at 17:46

The daily post count is much improved now that Leigh is back in action, well done that man. :)

LSemmens - 18-7-2012 at 01:15

I do my best, when I feel like it! ;)

giron - 18-7-2012 at 09:25

It's what separates the players from the spectators, isn't it ? teacher_mode

giron - 29-7-2012 at 14:51

The Trinity are restricting their postings in order to keep the average daily post count below 50, a clever strategic move. teacher_mode

It was exploded from a tower at Alamagordo in Nevada. Hiroshima was a dropped bomb from a B29 super fortress called the Enola Gay after Paul Tibbets (pilot)mother

giron - 30-7-2012 at 23:13

Once again the Trinity have done a magnificent job.

LSemmens - 31-7-2012 at 01:08

I wonder how many of them lived very long to tell their tale.

giron - 13-8-2012 at 11:08

The Trinity have successfully managed to keep the daily post count low, thus ensuring the overall objectives of their master plan will prevail. teacher_mode

giron - 27-8-2012 at 14:54

Once again the Trinity have successfully boosted the daily post count.

Bumping a thread about something that happened in 1957, shameless.nananana

LSemmens - 28-8-2012 at 00:54

Ain't KarlsForums good. We were posting even in 1957! _karling_reaches

giron - 29-8-2012 at 12:45

Ah yes, but they were imaginary posts. waggyfinger

LSemmens - 30-8-2012 at 01:13

How do you know? Were you here then, or were you imagining it?

giron - 30-8-2012 at 09:15

I wasn't actually there, but I imagine that's what happened. :)

LSemmens - 30-8-2012 at 11:50

waggyfingerWe don't have that sort of thing in open forum!waggyfingerGet ye over to the Late Night Club, where we all imagine we're having a good time.waggyfinger

giron - 30-8-2012 at 21:53

But it's only an imaginary good time, isn't it ?

victor - 30-8-2012 at 22:02

Only three here at this moment in time.

+25 at the door.

giron - 30-8-2012 at 22:06

victor - 30-8-2012 at 22:30

giron - 30-8-2012 at 22:32

Ah, so you managed to avoid the bloodshed ? waveysmiley

LSemmens - 31-8-2012 at 02:02

Bloodletting is contained to the outer courts. Those who use the (secret) tradesman's entrance usually avoid it. ;)

Nimuae - 31-8-2012 at 05:45

I never use the tradesman entrance, so I wouldn't know - but I do think that someone should stack the bodies in a tidier way until the 'bone collector' comes for them. Health and Safety would have a fit if they saw them at the moment !

giron - 31-8-2012 at 08:13

I would like to make it clear that I never enter by the rear passage. waggyfinger

LSemmens - 31-8-2012 at 13:21

I'm pleased to hear that giron. Maybe you could help Nim with the cleanup?

Nimuae - 5-9-2012 at 09:00

Who are 'the trinity' ? Should they be expanded into a quartet or even a heptet ?

giron - 5-9-2012 at 17:39

The Trinity are the top three posters at any particular time, the actual names will tend to vary but it's fair to say some names crop up more often than others.

The Trinity are usually responsible for at least 70% of the total posts made and the top poster can achieve something like 1/3 of the total posts.

giron - 11-9-2012 at 18:59

It's amazing what a big difference it makes to the daily post count when people participate and interact, isn't it ? teacher_mode

marymary100 - 11-9-2012 at 19:47

'tis

giron - 11-9-2012 at 20:29

To use a football analogy, it's the difference between a player on the field and one on the subs bench.

Up the Accies !

LSemmens - 12-9-2012 at 03:19

Let's face it, without Man U and American Politics, it's getting harder and harder to reach the dizzying heights of a certain competition in recent history.

giron - 12-9-2012 at 10:27

Ah yes, the halcyon days when scholar make up to 372 posts per day, sadly Ruby put her foot down and insisted he did something productive rather than spend hours and hours on the internet.

They can come and spend as much as they like. waveysmiley

giron - 13-9-2012 at 10:30

Quite so, as long as they go home afterwards.

That said, it would probably be a good idea if Mitt Romney was banned from coming here again, he made a right fool of himself on his last visit.

delanti - 13-9-2012 at 14:34

You just better hope they never discover large deposits of oil under English soil. If they do, we will be coming for the Motherland.waveysmiley

Matilda has raced into the lead with a magnificent collection of informative and well crafted posts, it's incredible what she is able to achieve when she has a day off work, but I can't help wondering why she hasn't got any housework to attend to. :)

marymary100 - 21-9-2012 at 10:52

The house will still be there when I'm gone.

giron - 21-9-2012 at 10:55

Ah yes, the Quentin Crisp approach to housework, he came to the conclusion that dusting was a waste of time as it only came back again.

giron - 21-9-2012 at 12:40

If you don't own a feather duster simply tie a red wig to the end of your trusty teachers cane.

Don't forget to remove the wig before you give unruly pupils a jolly good thrashing. teacher_mode

LSemmens - 22-9-2012 at 01:31

Dust is a preservative, If you don't disturb it, you'll find that the surface upon which it settles, is still there when someone (else) cleans it away, ergo: preservative. :D

I can ensure a good number of paying spectators. I'm sure that John would like to watch, maybe Scholar, to give some moral support, we may even tempt Charles out of the woodwork if we tell him that it's a Man City supporter who is getting a flogging by an MU supporter. (OK - I know it's not true, nut never let the facts......and all that) RW may come along to give an unbiased media report, come to think of it, Scholar may be able to find some way of blaming Obama, even though I know it's all Jiliar's fault.....You get the idea.
