Most interesting post
marymary100 - 14-12-2009 at 07:09

Later when I get back from work I'll copy and paste the winning post in here and the winner can do the same next day and so on.

Please just post as normal in the other threads, rather than contriving to be interesting in here. waveysmiley

John_Little - 14-12-2009 at 09:54

So, are all the posts that are to be judged for the title of "Most Interesting Post" have to be posted in this thread to be included?

Not in here John - just in normal threads. hth.

giron - 14-12-2009 at 12:17

Is there some sort of official appeals procedure, in the unlikely event that one of my many exceedingly interesting posts doesn't win?

Mary2 - 14-12-2009 at 13:12

No. The daily judge's decision is final.

LSemmens - 14-12-2009 at 13:26

Giron! Talk to the hand! That is your appeals process! ;)

John_Little - 14-12-2009 at 19:34

Steady on, Delanti! You'll give him ideas above his station!

victor - 14-12-2009 at 23:37

You obviously haven't been to Coventry station lately it wouldn't take much to rise above that. ;)

waffler - 14-12-2009 at 23:39

Surely wouldn't

delanti - 15-12-2009 at 02:57

That was quick, well done to the mail services both here in the UK and in America.

Of course, the US mail service has been far better since Obama became President.

2. If you drink a diet soda after eating your second cookie, it also has no calories because the diet soda cancels out the cookie calories.

3. If a friend comes over while you're making your Christmas cookies and needs to sample, you must sample with your friend. Because your friend's first cookie is calories free, (rule #1) yours is also. It would be rude to let your friend sample alone and, being the friend that you are, that makes your cookie calorie free.

4. Any cookie calories consumed while walking around will fall to your feet and eventually fall off as you move. This is due to gravity and the density of the caloric mass.

5. Any calories consumed during the frosting of the Christmas cookies will be used up because it takes many calories to lick excess frosting from a knife without cutting your tongue.

6. Cookies colored red or green have very few calories. Red ones have three and green ones have five - one calorie for each letter. Make more red ones!

7. Cookies eaten while watching "Miracle on 34th Street" have no calories because they are part of the entertainment package and not part of one's personal fuel.

8. As always, cookie pieces contain no calories because the process of breaking causes calorie leakage...

9. Any cookies consumed from someone else's plate have no calories since the calories rightfully belong to the other person and will cling to their plate. We all know how calories like to CLING!

10. Any cookies consumed while feeling stressed have no calories because cookies used for medicinal purposes NEVER have calories. It's a rule!

So, go out and enjoy those Christmas Cookies - we only get them this time of year!

It seems to me that a reply could be more interesting than an Original Post. For example, a post which answers an OP question might be more interesting than the question.:)

Thank you, JL doffs_cap and thank you Nim and Marymary for your favorable response.

As I write this, there has not been a single response in the post itself. I would not have known it was well-received, if not for this.

I will review posts at the end of this next day so I can post my

That was a good choice, John. TBH I had a quick look and went off to do something else and never got back to it. You should be encouraged, scholar, it's sad that an interesting topic, sometimes does not engender the hoped for response! Like my Tour down Under post, I'm very familiar with the stretch of roads that they raced upon today, and our little town was the end of the first sprint, it even made it to the news down here. I liked it, but that is all!

    Quaver's Post 'ere:

Faolan is Gaelic for wolf. The original was Sgth Faol (Shadow Wolf), I've pretty much moved away from using Faolan as a fora name and instead use a variant of the company name but that'd be even more naughty using that here!

    As they say:

Scottish by birth, British by law, Highlander by the grace of God.

Now then....Take a bowl and crack an egg or however many you want into it. Add some soy sauce or other similar condiment to taste.
Whisk up the egg so it's all broken up.

Remove the rice from the fridge and break it up with a fork. It should be nice and seperated.

Heat some vegetable oil up to a high heat in a wok, and some sesame oil if you have it.
Pour in the egg mixture and mix it up so the egg is nice and white and flaky.

Add the rice gradually and..KEEP STIRRING and turning everything over until everything is coated. Now you can add more soy sauce.

You can add veg at the rice stirring stage too. :)

    YUMMY!

    Over to you BG.

I think it's best to wait and see what happens before contacting him via U2U.

I choose the Bear's post in "Ruby and Scholar," in which he tells of his overwhelming love for Mrs. Bear.

I had trouble deciding between his, and Leigh's post about his own dear wife.

Actually no I wont be taking part as 99% of my posts are questioning fundamental thinking's that other posters propound that are diametrically opposite to my cognitive reasoning's, most of my posts consist of boring facts and theories that bestir fundamentalists to respond to, not that I believe in most of them, sorry just my quirk, it is called the wooden spoon syndrome .I do believe I still hold the hypothetical wooden spoon trophy once awarded to me by Janet who was once a poster on this forum as no one has claimed it since my celebrated win jmb

    scholar - 15-3-2010 at 01:45

I found myself so busy and so tired yesterday that I did not manage to read all the posts, so I did not think it fair for me to choose from those I had read (leaving the unread ones without any opportunity). I will read and choose yet tonight.;)

I was tired, because we Yankees set our clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, for Daylight Saving Time.

    LSemmens - 15-3-2010 at 06:15

Here's a hint, Scholar. And don't attribute it to me as I shall deny all knowledge if the boys come looking. You can actually set your clock ahead by one hour before you go to bed so that you can wake up at the correct time rather than waiting until 2AM to do it. I know that that is cheating, but we won't tell. Of course if that is too complex, you can actually do it in the morning too, but that can cause all sorts of problems if your appointment was at 0900 and you set your alarm for 0800 IYKWIM.

I'm always here to help! ;)

Scholar must have slept in. I thought he'd have adjusted his clock by now! Where are you, Scholar?

    giron - 15-3-2010 at 10:58

Don't forget that you're using a different time to what he is, so you'll probably be in bed before he wakes up.

Not that I'm suggesting that you go to bed with scholar, of course.

    scholar - 15-3-2010 at 11:33

Daz is my choice for most interesting post. I am torn between his thoughtful thank-you to the Bear in the Late Night Club UK for some help the Bear gave him, and the help Daz gave in the thread which requested direction in choosing a Slideshow application which could burn a slideshow onto a DVD. (Daz is often one of the quickest to respond to requests for PC Help.) :D

But, do I really have to decide? In either case, Daz will choose the next "most interesting post.";)

    LSemmens - 16-3-2010 at 05:11

    You're it DAZ!
