Fish and chips
marymary100 - 23-8-2009 at 13:53

I went out for dinner last night at a local place that specialises in fish. Everything is freshly caught that day and depending on when you arrive you may get what you were craving or not as they may have sold out of that particular fish already.

The haddock was beautiful and the scampi tastes totally different when not the packaged variety.

Yum!

What's your favourite fish to eat?

Salmon, plaice & scampi.
I love fish & chips as well (cod?). The one I had in Aldeburgh was fab:cool:

Turbot, Halibut, Sea bass, and Scampi (not packaged)

Oh, and fresh Tuna, Mackerel, Crab, and Prawns.

Ooh yum yum! i wouldn't mind some cod/haddock and chips right now. i do tend to get rather peckish around midnight and i don't really understand why?

Woe is me :( :( my nearest chippie is over 10 miles away. So it's a real treat for me to get fish and chips, eaten at the canal side in Welshpool.
I dislike any fish that tastes of the sea. I love cod and haddock

Thats quite local Dreamweaver, mine is a 44 mile round trip. by the time I have waited for the 2 buses, my fish and chips would be cold by the time I got them home...:D:D
Luckily, I like my fish straight from the sea (and free of cost)...at the moment its Salmon, Sea Tout and Mackeral by the bucket load. In a short while I am expecting my first Grouse of the season.
Going back to chips again, nobody seems to cook them in beef dripping anymore do they, they always tasted great when done this way...

Fresh Barra, of the salt water variety, freshies just taste muddy.
