marymary100 - 16-8-2009 at 20:32
You'd have to come a bit further north to be frisked down for concealed weapons Delanti.
delanti - 16-8-2009 at 20:36
Strip search? Paladin, have gun will travel.
Nimuae - 16-8-2009 at 21:25
Are you venturing across to York itself ?
delanti - 16-8-2009 at 22:15
I am not sure about York it self but will more than likely be in Knaresborough.
scholar - 16-8-2009 at 22:53
Oh, Delanti, I envy you.
Right now, I can't even escape Illinois.
(That would be another sequel to "Escape from New York" )
Nimuae - 16-8-2009 at 23:27
Well - you just never know who you may find there !
DeWitch - 18-8-2009 at 01:22
My favorite movie
Redwolf5150 - 18-8-2009 at 01:32
"Snake Plissken... I've heard of you. I heard you were dead!"
One of my favorites, too.
DeWitch - 18-8-2009 at 02:51
Isn't it the kewlest - I can't even remember how many times I have watched it
Kurt Russell is the best - he grew up just a few miles from here
John_Little - 18-8-2009 at 07:38
Never mind that movie, Delanti has just reminded me of one of my old time favourite cowboys! Have Gun Will Travel. Paladin, eh? Marvelous!
Snowy - 18-8-2009 at 08:22
Hi Delanti, I hope you have time to come and visit Scotland while you are in Britain. Whatever you do, have a really nice trip and a safe journey to
John_Little - 18-8-2009 at 11:28
But, Snowy, there is "Scotland" and the Arctic Circle, where you live.
Snowy - 18-8-2009 at 11:55
You are right John, I suspect that Delanti wont have the time to visit the wilds of Caithness, not many people do because its just too far to travel.
Its a shame because a trip over to the Orkneys is well worth the effort....
John_Little - 18-8-2009 at 12:03
There was a thing on Channel 5 yesterday evening about animals and they are about to release a load of Pine martins into the wild. Cute little
Snowy - 18-8-2009 at 12:17
You are very lucky to see one of those John, they are very shy creatures. They can be tempted out though with Jam sandwiches of all things.
scholar - 18-8-2009 at 13:22
Snowy, you could tempt me out with a jam sandwich.
Blackberry is my favorite.
delanti - 18-8-2009 at 13:38
Thanks Snowy. Ah pity the fact that I limited funds otherwise Cathiness would more than likely be on my visit list. Being a country boy, I enjoy
visiting country or rural places much more than the big cities.
The main purpose of my visit is genealogy. My fathers ancestors came from the Hebden Bridge, area. After 12 years of research, I finally traced them
back to England and I will be meeting with a 4th Cousin once removed and her mother while there. I will also be meeting with a English researcher who
has been of great help in my search. They have offered to be my guides while there, helping me to visit places relative to my ancestors places of
Not all my time will be spent this way,I am hoping to see some of the beautiful countryside in the Calder Valley area. My Cousins Mother is 90 and
lives in Knaresborough and I will be visiting her there. I am sure that I will bring home many memories to enjoy and share with other relatives
scholar - 18-8-2009 at 15:22
And pictures, Bob! Pictures!
Remember, the camera gets no heavier as you load it up with pics.
I don't remember if you have a laptop you could use to check in with us during the trip. DeWitch did.
LSemmens - 18-8-2009 at 16:42
Good on you Bob! Enjoy your travels, when are you going? Just remember that we expect a factual report, unlike some self styled sports reporters here,
who shall remain nameless, Charles, upon your return!
marymary100 - 18-8-2009 at 17:35
Paladin means something else to us Scots eh snowy?
delanti - 19-8-2009 at 02:31
I thought I might get an invite to one of those MU games but nothing has transpired yet.
the bear - 19-8-2009 at 03:13
