Secrets of a happy marriage

The secret to a long-lasting marriage is a two-year age gap, four kisses a day and sex three times a week. Sharing two hobbies, having three cuddles every 24 hours, saying at least one 'I love you' a day and enjoying two romantic meals a month could also help ensure a lasting liaison.

The maths of marriage

32 years and still going strong. We do share all our hobbies and friends. In fact we do most things together - including kissing - and hangovers.

Edit: Actually, except one hobby. Internet Forums. Mrs L just dont do them.

Seems a lot of work...

John_Little - 1-3-2009 at 18:06

I suppose it is, in a way. A bit like breathing.

No...

Does it lead to unhappiness if you have more than 4 kisses a day, and sex 3 times a week, what happens if you cant walk past each other without a having a cuddle or gentle caress, divorce?

I think those were the minimum amounts of attention you needed to pay to your spouse to keep their interest. But each relationship likes to think it is unique so no doubt there will be fluctuations from the average.

Nope. I don't see my husband four days a week and we're happy so the whole suggestion is nonsense IMHO. :P

"Needed" is the bug bear here.

I suspect that's not what the original says at all - it will have found a *correlation* not causality.

Mary2 - 3-3-2009 at 11:05

Perhaps. The real research will be out there somewhere. ;)

Depends.

What I call a gentle caress Jackie considers GROPING!

:D

It's all fun and games until

fish_slap

When I grope her while she's cooking.

:D

LSemmens - 6-3-2009 at 11:08

RW, have you not learnt. NEVER grope a woman when she has sharp implements in her hands. If you are lucky, she may just slip and cut herself, the other scenario does not even bear contemplation! lips_sealedlips_sealed

Just keep saying "yes dear" or "that looks nice dear." ;)

Swish Checkley - 6-3-2009 at 17:08

(I hate the word grope. To me it suggests unwillingness on the part of the person being groped, but maybe that's just my interpretation).

I don't fear the sharp object.

It's being beaten with the main course I can't stand.

If you are *lucky* your wife gets hurt?

TBF, it's clearly a tongue in cheek comment... And probably, in all honestly, a "man thing/comment"... I get it, and the humour intended in it, I suspect other's may not...

LSemmens - 7-3-2009 at 11:27

Thanks Daz. My response, Janet, lighten up. I did not think that I'd need to spell it out, think "Bobbit"!
