Some browsers have a setting, whereby all cookies, or all new cookies, are deleted, when you shut the browser.

If you, or one of your security programs, have set things thus, that might explain it.

Chrome keeps me logged in. My Windows phone keeps me logged in. I'm not sure which browser you use but if you have delete cookies selected as a security measure you will need to log in every time you click onto another page. You could keep a browser window always connected to KF if you don't want to enable cookies.

I have been looking through the pages and the information on logging in and out. I don't see a button that says, "stay logged in." There is information that says cookies are necessary to keep you logged in, and that those cookies are deleted when you click the button to log out.

I also experimented, closing my KF windows without logging out. Then, when I opened a KF window, I was already on as scholar. But, if I deliberately log out before I close the window, I must log in again.

So, I agree with the other comments--you must be losing your cookies somehow. Some computer browsers are set to eliminate cookies without you deliberately doing it, especially if you close a browser or if you shut down the computer entirely.

Or, perhaps, http://www.karlsforums.com/forums/index.php --that is what appeared when I logged out just now, and tried to log back in.

Wish I could find it

I'll help you.

What page shows first, when you go to Karlsforums? Do you go to the page http://www.karlsforums.com/forums ?

Or, do you go to http://www.karlsforums.com/forums/today.php (which is my first page)?

IIRC John is on the money with cookies. I vaguely remember the same question being asked some years ago. I am happy enough to be logged out when I close the browser. Another forum I inhabit logs you out after a period of inactivity which is a darn nuisance.

Have you got something that deletes your cookies and stuff on a regular basis? It does happen to me sometimes and I don't think there's a "remember me" tick box....is there?

Why do I have to log in every time I visit the forums ?.
