Our volunteers can't work more than 16 hours or they get their benefits stopped. However they charge 500 every time they are called out in error so must be recouping some of what they cost to run.

Note, I am not taking sides, or knocking the ACA, just reporting the facts.

On the news tonight it was revealed that volunteer firefighters will be restricted to not working more than 30 hours a week. This is because the ACA considers even volunteers who work more that 30 hours as employees. The Volunteer Firemans Association is going to ask for a Federal exemption so as to not make the fire departments pay for insurance coverage for all the volunteers. Having to limit the hours for the volunteers will severely limit the efficiency of the Fire Departments. waveysmiley
