I don['t know, scholar, do you know? Any organisation bent on mayhem will set their 'marks' based upon intelligence that they have gathered. Of course, profiling will help target likely suspects, however, if one group is consistently ignored, you can bet that those bent on destruction will soon start cultivating their people to fit that group.

However, the president was careful to praise the efforts of law-enforcement agencies and homeland security officials.
However, did he praise the head of the Transportation Safety Administration (under Homeland Security), which is supposed to prevent such attacks?

No, of course not--because he has failed in one year to even fill the position!

A person without a head does not do very well. A TSA without a head doesn't do very well, either.

I disagree with Waffler, and agree with the idea of profiling people for a start.

How many little old ladies are Islamic terrorists? How many Jewish people are Islamic terrorists? How many children under ten years old are Islamic terrorists? How many Protestant ministers are Islamic terrorists? How many Roman Catholic nuns are Islamic terrorists? How many Buddhists are Islamic terrorists?

Here are a few warning signs that I would suggest should draw suspicion:
--The person pays cash for an expensive ticket.
--The person does not present a passport.
--The person's father has warned the American authorities, "I believe my son is a dangerous Islamic terrorist."

Of course the blacks and the ACLU have just about made it a crime to "profile" criminals. waveysmiley

What do you think of targetted searches? Should we be remaining politically correct and check everyone or admit that it is just one type of traveller that is causing the problem and target them?

It would seem that some Americans are far more intent in knocking their President, rather than concentrating on more important issues.

Shame on them!
