The names of the apps/tools/utilities would be a good start. What it is that you're trying to do, when this pops up?

What additional information, available to me, would help?

There is no identification of the app in the window-query. Most of the files are identified with symbols that are not alphabetic letters.

I am getting this message on my older machine, which is running XP..

In fact, I have gotten it dozens of times. It was not until I realized that Alt + F4 would kill each of them quickly that I realized I could get through them in reasonable time.

I am not sure what is causing this, or its significance. It might have to do with a new version of Avast! free, or with an update of Firefox browser.

I usually turn down things that request permissions, because I am afraid of mistakenly giving malware permission to install itself.
