It is a tremendous thing to change the requirements from those laid down in the Christian Scriptures selected by a panel of men for men.

It only took just over 2000 years.

I have not done any in depth study on the requirements of gender as espoused by some but this commentary does tend to sum up the requirements of such an exalted office.

King James Bible: "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;"

On course other translations say overseer not bishop....
