Keep watching lower league football and it certainly won't be your last time you see it. Again, it happens, not particularly unheard of. We'd call it Route one, or a long punt upfield, or long ball stuff.

Glad to see some Yanks are playing and enjoying "real" football though... smokin: kewl_glasses ;)

confused2 And it happens week in, week out, providing the keeper has a pair of 'nads to risk injury for the sake or the team.... smokin:

Oh, Brian Dahme has 'nads aplenty.

He even has an assist on a goal this year. Booted the ball 3/4 of the way down the field to our waiting number one scorer who faked out a defender and drilled it into the net.

First time I ever saw a goalie get an assist before.

Red, you're clearly not used to seeing tackles in proper football...

The more you watch, the more you'll see like these....

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dkroixA8Jgc (Unbelievably went unpunished by the ref. I was there, it was shocking.)

And...

This is part of a sequence shot at 6.3 frames per second for two seconds.

I was standing between two television cameramen. All three of us reviewed our take of the incident immediately and came to the conclusion a card should have been issued but wasn't.

He made the save, I might add.

And he stopped all but one of 17 shots on goal after this before the half.

It was senior night, so they pulled him in order to get the OTHER goalie, also a senior, some time in the last home game of the regular season.

I once saw a golfer hit his tee shot into a ball washer and then ricocheted into the groin area of a spectator.

Talk about irony.

Took three guys to carry him off the field.

That ball was fired from about 15 yards in from the corner toward the goal.

So it had some speed to it.
