|I use H&R Block tax program and it saves 2 types of files. The return for fileing is a T12 extender and the back up is a PDF. If that is any help.
If she could get them on the library computer om line you should be able to also. I would think.Always print a hard copy of your tax return. Computers
sometimes bite the dust so I have been told.

|I've got WinXP Pro. There is a "My Documents" folder at start-up, but that would only be helpful if I made a point of storing documents there, and
not elsewhere. I'll remember the Win7 feature, though--someday, I'll have Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Ruby has come home, and she tells me that she got the documents on a library computer and printed them at the library. That was when my computer only
had phone-modem internet access.

|In Windows 7 you just do > Start >Documents and all types show up then do a sort by date and the chronological order should help you find it.

|Is there a way to distinguish between all types of documents, and non-document files?
I use Total Commander 5.5 for most of my searches, but I can go back to Windows Explorer if there is a reason to do so.
Since I haven't found anything so far--and, I am very much a "save-the-document-before-you-close" guy--I'm thinking that she might have done it on
some other computer. The tax man's, for example.

|Just list all your documents by date and all types should show up. Your only problem will be if you deleted files or if Ruby got them as
attachments but didn't save.

|In the U.S;, employers used to mail paper copies of some tax information a form WW-2, to each employee. The W-2 form includes the employee's total
pay for that tax year, and how much money was deducted from that pay so as to be sent to the national and state governments as a sort of pre-payment
