Thank you both very much - it was the Kingsoft one that I could not remember. Will charge up the laptop and try that one.

A few months ago I bought a new laptop. It runs on Windows 8, which does not have any 'office' type facilities. I am sure that someone recommended a free download but cannot now find the link.

I have tried to download 'open office' but it comes withall kinds of stuff that i do not want. Please can anyone help ?waveysmiley
