I meant how to make it the default search provider in the search alongside the address bar.
The kids like to set their own homepage.

Set it as your home page so that is the one they see first.

that looks good for the kids computer.
But is there anyway to make it the default search in the toolbar?

It certainly seems to work, it blocked all of the words I entered.

Try it out yourself first of course
