They are spending tens of millions more on Queen Street station's upgrade than they are spending on a whole new school for over 2,500 students where I work. Improving the stations does nothing to improve the lines and stock. Unimpressive spending priorities.

Not once you came to the reality based conclusion that the only, and I do mean only, power that one could ever possibly attain in one's ENTIRE life is that which comes from being behind the wheel of a car.

On a side note, that's also the single greatest obstacle for a very large group of people to give that up and "ride" in a driverless car, i. e., they will resist that with every bone in their body [up to and including sabotaging the tech].

Personally, if governments were serious about alleviating traffic congestion, they would be improving public transport and making it so economical and easy to access that use of personal transport would be an insane choice.

In certain circles the problem is defined as the "rubber tire mafia". They play for keeps (AKA Hard Ball), make no mistake about that.
