I found an item among my brother's possessions that I did not expect--a small vpap machine.

The V in vpap stands for vapor, I think, because of the water vapor added to the positive air pressure, so that it does not dry the tissues so badly. Ruby dislikes her own vpap machine and goes months at a time without using it. If I first get this one properly cleaned, perhaps Ruby will prefer it.

But, I do have to clean it before she sees it. Otherwise, the first bad impression is likely to turn her mind against it. She is the sort of person who will throw away five pounds of cheese, instead of scraping a little mold off the end.
