She sounds like she was a very good MP. If only more would emulate her.

"Today is the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. More difficult, more painful, less joyful, less full of love. I and Jo's friends and family are going to work every moment of our lives to love and nurture our kids and to fight against the hate that killed Jo.

Jo believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people.

She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her. Hate doesn't have a creed, race or religion, it is poisonous.

Jo would have no regrets about her life, she lived every day of it to the full."

I was merely stating what was on the murderers mind IMO, neither advocating nor revoking any overseas work done by the peoples representatives. don't be so quick to point the finger, but I still think the root cause of the murder was her involvement in overseas work and the deranged man needs psychiatric help or prison as the needs may be. every one has the right to their take on the matter all the platitudes in world wont bring her back I only wish it could.

Lot of it about, sadly.

England's a scary place, now...

If you read the eulogies you will see that she did dedicate herself to her constituents. She also spoke in parliament about UK's involvement in wars overseas which helped to change policy. Are you seriously saying that MPs should not speak up about matters within their areas of expertise? She had been a charity worker for years and used that experience to inform her opinions. How refreshing.

Sadly, in the UK, there are far too many people who are so scared they are going to lose out personally that their attitude to everyone else on the planet is one of selfishness and anger.

She is a great loss to politics.

A beacon of hope and service cut down by poisonous violence.

The murderer had history of being deranged,
the MP devoted a lot of her time to international good causes which must have preyed on the neo Nazi's mind when he shouted put Britain first
he should be locked away as a danger to himself and society. the question is now should a MP devote their elected time to their constituents first, and not involve so much in the welfare of other peoples and countries /

This thing really brought tears to my eyes.

She really was one of the good ones.

Even Osborne conceded that.

It's a racist organisation with connections to a previously banned group.

Think Nazi with a British flag wrapped around them.

Would someone from GB explain what the slogan "Britain First" signifies (if indeed it is some kind of a slogan).

Hate breeds insanity. Poor Jo. Awful for her family.
