Installing A New Graphic Card Or Updating Drivers by Karl Davis
Generally unless specifically told different by the manufacturers the best way to install a graphics card is: Set current graphics adapter to standard VGA and have new drivers ready, unzipped in a spare folder or on disk. Shut down machine and install new card.,reboot. and when new hardware is detected say "have disk" and point to source of new drivers and select card. If
possible change adapter refresh rate to <optimal> before rebooting. Setting Adapter to VGA Open
"My Computer" Browse
to the location where the drivers are on your cd or harddrive when prompted. The Card then requires re-installation of direct x, to certify the drivers for full use with your new card.
